
Michael Kenji Shinoda (born February 11, 1977) is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and visual artist. He co-founded Linkin Park in 1996 and was the band's rhythm guitarist, primary songwriter, keyboardist, producer, and co-lead vocalist.

Early Life
Born in Agoura, California, to Japanese-American parents, Shinoda was raised in Agoura Hills. He began formal classical piano training at age six and added jazz and hip-hop influences during his teens. He graduated from Agoura High School and later earned a degree in illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
Career
Shinoda co-founded Linkin Park (originally Xero) in 1996. He played a significant role in shaping the band's distinctive nu-metal and later alternative rock sound, contributing as a rapper, vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist, and producer. After Bennington's passing, Shinoda released his debut solo album, Post Traumatic, in 2018, which explored his grief and healing process. He continues to create music and visual art.

Shinoda is married to author Anna Hillinger and they have three children. He is actively involved in philanthropy and supports various charitable causes.
