Simone Giertz, known online as the "Queen of Shitty Robots," is a Swedish inventor, maker, robotics enthusiast, and YouTuber. She is famous for building comedically dysfunctional robots that often fail spectacularly at their intended tasks, showcasing her playful approach to engineering and technology.

Early Life

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Giertz developed an early interest in electronics and building things. She studied physics at university for one year before pursuing a career in robotics and engineering.

Career

Giertz's career began with creating humorous, intentionally flawed robots, documenting her process and the often-hilarious results on YouTube. Her creations include a breakfast-making machine, a lipstick-applying robot, and a hair-washing robot, all demonstrating a charmingly inept functionality. Beyond her "shitty robots," Giertz has also explored other creative projects, including building a Tesla Model 3 into a pickup truck she dubbed "Truckla." She has also authored a book and hosted a podcast.
