Robert August Trujillo

Robert Trujillo is the bassist for the heavy metal band Metallica. Known for his energetic stage presence and complex basslines, he joined the band in 2003 after a successful career playing with various artists including Suicidal Tendencies and Ozzy Osbourne.

Early Life

Born on October 23, 1964, in Santa Monica, California, Trujillo grew up in a musical household. He developed a passion for music at a young age and began playing bass guitar as a teenager.

Career

Trujillo's career began in the 1980s with the crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies. He later played with the funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves, a side project of Suicidal Tendencies. In the 1990s, he worked with Ozzy Osbourne before ultimately joining Metallica in 2003. He has been a key member of the band ever since, contributing to albums like Death Magnetic and Hardwired...to Self-Destruct.
