Malcolm Mitchell Young (6 January 1953 – 18 November 2017) was an Australian musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, and songwriter for the hard rock band AC/DC. He was a key member of the band from its formation in 1973 until his retirement in 2014, co-writing nearly all of their songs with his younger brother, Angus Young.
