Early Life
Joe Hahn was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in Glendale, California. He is of Korean descent. He attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, initially studying illustration before switching to film.
Career
Hahn joined Linkin Park (then known as Xero) in 1996. He is responsible for the band's turntables, sampling, and programming, contributing heavily to their signature sound. Beyond his musical contributions, Hahn has directed numerous music videos for Linkin Park and other artists, including Static-X and Story of the Year. He has also directed feature films, including Mall (2014).

Hahn married Karen Benedit in 2005. They divorced in 2012. He married Heidi Woan in 2016.
