Early Life

Born on November 21, 1985, in Mission, British Columbia, Canada, Carly Rae Jepsen showed an early interest in music. She pursued her passion in high school, participating in musical theatre and later attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, British Columbia.

Career

After placing third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol in 2007, Jepsen released her debut album, Tug of War, in Canada in 2008. Her breakthrough came with the release of "Call Me Maybe" in 2011, followed by her second album, Kiss, in 2012.
