Billie Eilish Pirate, known professionally as Billie Eilish, is an American singer and songwriter. Early Life

Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell was born on December 18, 2001, in Los Angeles, California. She was raised in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Both of her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, are actors and musicians, and they homeschooled Eilish and her older brother, Finneas O'Connell, who is also a musician and her frequent collaborator.

Career

Eilish began writing songs at a young age. In 2015, she uploaded the song "Ocean Eyes," written and produced by Finneas, to SoundCloud. The song went viral, leading to a record deal with Darkroom and Interscope Records. Her debut EP, Don't Smile at Me, was released in 2017 and reached the top 15 in several countries. Her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, released in 2019, debuted at number one in numerous countries and featured hit singles like "Bad Guy" and "Bury a Friend." Her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, followed in 2021 and also topped the charts.

Personal Life

Eilish has been open about her struggles with mental health, including Tourette syndrome and depression. She is known for her distinctive fashion sense, often opting for oversized clothing.

Eilish has won numerous awards, including seven Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and a Brit Award.
