Akiva Schaffer

Akiva Schaffer is a comedian, writer, director, actor, and musician, best known as one-third of the comedy group The Lonely Island, alongside Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. He frequently directs their music videos and has also directed feature films including Hot Rod, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

Early Life

Akiva Schaffer grew up in Berkeley, California, where he met his future Lonely Island collaborators, Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, in junior high school. They began making videos together in 2000.

Career

Schaffer, along with Samberg and Taccone, gained popularity through their work on Saturday Night Live, where their digital shorts became viral sensations. The Lonely Island has released several albums, including Incredibad and Turtleneck & Chain, featuring hit songs like "I'm on a Boat" and "Jack Sparrow."
