Early Life
Born Patrick Martin Stumph in Glenview, Illinois, he developed a passion for music at a young age. His parents divorced when he was eight, and he grew up with his mother, a folk singer, and two older siblings. He attended Glenbrook South High School where he played drums in various local bands.
Career
Stump joined Fall Out Boy in 2001 as the drummer before taking over lead vocals. The band achieved mainstream success with albums like From Under the Cork Tree and Infinity on High. Following a hiatus, Fall Out Boy returned in 2012 and continues to release music. Stump also launched a solo career in 2011 with the album Soul Punk and has contributed to soundtracks for film and television, including Gnomeo & Juliet and The LEGO Batman Movie.

Stump married his longtime girlfriend Elisa Yao in 2011. They have two children.
