Born on January 9, 1974, in Mumbai, India, Farhan Akhtar is the son of renowned screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. He grew up in a creative environment, which influenced his career path.

Career

Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film Dil Chahta Hai (2001), which he also wrote. He later directed films like Lakshya (2004), Don (2006), and its sequel Don 2 (2011). Akhtar made his acting debut in Rock On!! (2008), for which he also wrote the screenplay and dialogues. He has since acted in several successful films, including Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), and Gully Boy (2019). As a producer, his company Excel Entertainment has produced numerous successful films and web series, including Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Gully Boy, Inside Edge, and Mirzapur.

Personal Life

Farhan Akhtar was married to hairstylist Adhuna Bhabani from 2000 to 2017. They have two daughters. He is currently in a relationship with actress Shibani Dandekar, whom he married in 2022.
