Brian Johnson

Brian Johnson is an English singer best known as the lead vocalist of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. He joined the band in 1980, replacing the late Bon Scott. His powerful, distinctive vocals have become a signature element of AC/DC's sound.

Early Life

Born October 5, 1947, in Dunston, Gateshead, England, Brian Johnson showed an early interest in music. He was a member of various bands before achieving international fame.

Career

Before joining AC/DC, Johnson was the lead singer of the glam rock band Geordie. He joined AC/DC in 1980, shortly after Bon Scott's death. His first album with the band, Back in Black, became one of the best-selling albums of all time. He continued to record and tour with AC/DC for decades, contributing to their iconic status in rock music. In 2016, he temporarily stepped away from touring due to hearing issues, but later returned to the band.
