Early Life
Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III was born in Wilmette, Illinois. He attended New Trier High School and DePaul University, where he studied political science.
Career
Wentz's music career began in the Chicago hardcore punk scene. He formed Fall Out Boy in 2001 with Patrick Stump. The band achieved mainstream success with their album From Under the Cork Tree (2005). Wentz is also known for his work as a record executive, founding the label Decaydance Records (later DCD2 Records). He has also authored books and dabbled in acting.
