Jorge Campos Navarrete is a prominent Mexican sports commentator and former professional footballer renowned for his flamboyant goalkeeping style and colorful jerseys. He played for various clubs, including UNAM, Atlante, and the Mexican national team, often switching between goalkeeper and striker roles. After retiring from professional play, he transitioned to a successful career as a sports analyst and commentator, primarily with TV Azteca Deportes.

Born on October 15, 1966, in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, Campos grew up with a passion for football. Initially, he aspired to be a striker, which influenced his unique playing style even after becoming a goalkeeper.

Career

Campos began his professional football career with Pumas UNAM in 1988. His ability to play both as a goalkeeper and striker quickly garnered attention. He later played for Atlante, Cruz Azul, Tigres UANL, and Puebla in Mexico, as well as the LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire in the MLS. He represented Mexico in the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups. Following his retirement from playing, Campos transitioned to sports commentary and analysis, becoming a fixture on TV Azteca Deportes.
