Early Life
Born in Heston, Middlesex, Page began playing guitar as a teenager and quickly became a sought-after session musician in London. He was a member of The Yardbirds from 1966 to 1968.
Career
In late 1968, Page formed Led Zeppelin, which went on to become one of the most successful and influential rock bands of all time. He served as the band's guitarist and producer for all their studio albums. After Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980 following the death of drummer John Bonham, Page continued his career as a solo artist, collaborating with various musicians and pursuing other projects like the Firm and the Coverdale•Page project. He also remastered Led Zeppelin's catalog.
Awards
Page has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice – once as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and again as a member of Led Zeppelin (1995). He has also been honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
