Guy Berryman

Early Life

Born on 12 April 1978 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, Berryman grew up in Kent, England. He started playing the trumpet at age 12 and later picked up the guitar and bass. He studied engineering at University College London before switching to architecture.

Career

Berryman met his future bandmates at University College London in 1996. He joined Coldplay, originally known as Starfish, as their bassist. He has played bass on all of Coldplay's albums, contributing to their distinctive sound. Beyond his bass playing, Berryman also contributes backing vocals and keyboards for the band.

Personal Life

Berryman is known for being the most private member of Coldplay. He was married to Joanna Briston from 2004 to 2007. He has a daughter, Nico, born in 2006.
