Bang Si Hyuk

Bang Si-hyuk (Hangul: 방시혁; born August 9, 1972), also known as "Hitman" Bang, is a South Korean songwriter, composer, producer, and record executive. He is the founder and chairman of HYBE Corporation, formerly Big Hit Entertainment, the agency behind K-pop groups such as BTS, TXT, and ENHYPEN. Bang is renowned for his role in shaping the global success of K-pop, particularly with BTS.

Bang Si-hyuk was born on August 9, 1972. He developed a passion for music at a young age. He attended Seoul National University.

Career

Bang Si-hyuk began his career as a composer and producer, working with various artists in the South Korean music industry. He co-founded the entertainment company JYP Entertainment with Park Jin-young before establishing his own company, Big Hit Entertainment, in 2005. Big Hit Entertainment later rebranded as HYBE Corporation. He is credited with discovering and nurturing the global phenomenon BTS, as well as other successful groups like TXT, and ENHYPEN. He stepped down as CEO of HYBE Corporation in July 2021 to focus on music production.
