Atticus Ross

Atticus Ross is an English musician, songwriter, record producer, and composer best known for his collaborations with Trent Reznor, primarily in the band Nine Inch Nails and in their work scoring films. His distinctive sound design and electronic music production have earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards, including Academy Awards and Grammys.

Early Life

Born Atticus Matthew Coward on January 16, 1968, in Ladbroke Grove, London, England, Ross began his music career in the late 1980s. He initially worked as a programmer and keyboard player.

Career

Ross began collaborating with Trent Reznor in the early 2000s, contributing to Nine Inch Nails albums. He officially joined the band in 2016. Beyond NIN, Ross and Reznor have composed scores for numerous films, including The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, and Soul. He has also produced and remixed music for various artists.

Awards

Ross has won several Academy Awards for Best Original Score, including for The Social Network and Soul. He has also won Grammy Awards for his work on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack and the Nine Inch Nails album Hesitation Marks.
