Momo Hirai

Momo Hirai (平井 もも) is a Japanese singer and dancer based in South Korea. She is best known as a member of the popular K-pop girl group TWICE, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015. Momo gained recognition for her exceptional dance skills and charismatic stage presence.

Early Life

Momo Hirai was born on November 9, 1996, in Kyōtanabe, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. She began dancing at a young age and joined a dance studio at the age of three. A video of her and her sister dancing was submitted to JYP Entertainment, leading to her being scouted by the company in 2012. She then moved to South Korea to become a trainee.

Career

After two years of training, Momo participated in the reality survival show Sixteen in 2015. Although initially eliminated, she was brought back in the final episode and became a member of TWICE. The group debuted with the song "Like OOH-AHH" and quickly rose to prominence in the K-pop industry. Momo is known as the main dancer of TWICE and is often praised for her powerful performances and versatility in various dance genres.
