Juan González

Juan González is a Puerto Rican journalist, author, and activist. He is best known as the co-host of the independent news program Democracy Now! alongside Amy Goodman. A veteran journalist with a career spanning decades, he has been a staff columnist for the New York Daily News and has written extensively on labor issues, political activism, and social justice.

Early Life

Born in Puerto Rico, González grew up in East Harlem and Brooklyn, New York. He became involved in activism as a student during the 1960s.

Career

González has had a distinguished career in journalism. He worked for the Philadelphia Daily News and later joined the New York Daily News, where he became a prominent columnist. He has also been a visiting professor at Rutgers University. In 1996, he joined Amy Goodman as co-host of Democracy Now!

González has received numerous awards for his journalism, including the George Polk Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award.
