
Damon Albarn, OBE, is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the frontman of the rock band Blur and co-creator of the virtual band Gorillaz. Early Life
Born in Whitechapel, London, and raised in Leytonstone, Essex, Albarn showed an early interest in music and theatre. He attended the Stanway School in Colchester, where he met future Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.
Career
Albarn's career began with Blur, formed in 1988. They achieved Britpop fame in the 1990s. In 1998, he co-created the virtual band Gorillaz with artist Jamie Hewlett. Gorillaz gained international success with their unique blend of music and animation. Albarn has also pursued a solo career and various other musical projects, including opera and collaborations with African musicians.

Albarn has a daughter with artist Suzi Winstanley.
