Ryan Ross was born on August 30, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He met future bandmate Spencer Smith in elementary school, and they began playing music together in middle school, initially covering Blink-182 songs.
Career
Ross co-founded Panic! at the Disco with childhood friend Spencer Smith. He served as the band's lead guitarist and primary lyricist, contributing significantly to their debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005). Following the departure of bassist Brent Wilson, Ross also took on bass duties for the album's touring cycle. He continued as guitarist and a key songwriter for their second album, Pretty. Odd. (2008). Ross and Jon Walker left Panic! at the Disco in 2009 to form the band The Young Veins. The Young Veins released one album before going on indefinite hiatus in 2011.
