Jensen Ackles

Jensen Ackles is an American actor and director best known for his portrayal of Dean Winchester in the long-running CW series Supernatural. He has also appeared in other television shows like Days of Our Lives and Smallville, and lent his voice to animated projects and video games.

Early Life

Jensen Ross Ackles was born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, to Donna Jean and Alan Roger Ackles. He has English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry.

Career

Ackles began modeling at age 4 and started acting in 1996 with guest roles on shows like Mr. Rhodes and Sweet Valley High. He joined the cast of Days of Our Lives in 1997, playing Eric Brady until 2000. After leaving the soap opera, he appeared in the miniseries Blonde and landed a recurring role on Dawson's Creek. In 2005, he took on the role of Dean Winchester in Supernatural, which ran for 15 seasons. He has also appeared in films such as My Bloody Valentine 3D and provided voice acting for animated projects like Batman: Under the Red Hood and video games like Tron: Evolution. More recently, he has appeared in The Boys and Big Sky.

Ackles married actress and model Danneel Harris in 2010. They have three children.
