Aubrey Drake Graham

Aubrey Drake Graham, known professionally as Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and businessman. He initially gained recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Following this, he pursued a career in music, releasing several mixtapes before signing to Young Money Entertainment in 2009.

Early Life

Born October 24, 1986, in Toronto, Ontario, Drake grew up in two different neighborhoods. His father, Dennis Graham, is an African-American drummer from Memphis, Tennessee, and his mother, Sandi Graham (née Sher), is a Canadian Ashkenazi Jew who worked as an English teacher and florist.

Career

Drake's early mixtapes, particularly Room for Improvement (2006), Comeback Season (2007), and So Far Gone (2009), garnered significant attention online. His debut studio album, Thank Me Later, was released in 2010, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200. He followed up with successful albums like Take Care (2011), Nothing Was the Same (2013), Views (2016), and Scorpion (2018). Drake has also achieved notable success with singles such as "Best I Ever Had," "Hold On, We're Going Home," "Hotline Bling," "One Dance," and "God's Plan."

Personal Life

Drake has a son, Adonis, born in 2017.
