Andrew Taggart, born December 31, 1989, is an American DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as one half of the electronic DJ duo The Chainsmokers, alongside Alex Pall. Taggart's musical journey began in his teens, influenced by electronic dance music he discovered while living abroad. He gained prominence with The Chainsmokers through their remixes and original tracks, achieving international success with hits like "#Selfie," "Roses," and "Closer."

Andrew Taggart was born in Freeport, Maine. He developed an interest in electronic music during his teenage years while living in Argentina. He interned at Interscope Records before attending Syracuse University, where he studied music business.

Career

Taggart initially pursued a solo career as a DJ. He met Alex Pall in New York City, and they formed The Chainsmokers in 2011. Initially remixing indie artists, they gained attention with their viral hit "#Selfie" in 2014.
