Early Life
Duff McKagan was born in Seattle, Washington. He is the youngest of eight children. He learned to play bass guitar at a young age and played in various punk rock bands in Seattle before moving to Los Angeles.
Career
McKagan joined Guns N' Roses in 1985. He played bass on their iconic albums Appetite for Destruction, Use Your Illusion I, and Use Your Illusion II. He left the band in 1997 but rejoined in 2016. Aside from Guns N' Roses, McKagan has had a successful solo career and played with bands like Velvet Revolver and Loaded.
Personal Life
McKagan has been married three times and has two daughters. He is also a writer and has published several books, including his autobiography, It's So Easy (and Other Lies).
