Career
Gossard was a key figure in the Seattle music scene of the late 1980s. He co-founded Green River with Jeff Ament, which is considered one of the earliest grunge bands. Following Green River's disbandment, he and Ament formed Mother Love Bone with Andrew Wood. After Wood's tragic death, Gossard and Ament connected with Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready, eventually forming Pearl Jam in 1990. Gossard has played rhythm guitar and written songs for all of Pearl Jam's albums, including hits like "Daughter," "Given to Fly," and "Alive." He also released solo albums and collaborated on other musical projects.
