Sidiki Diabaté

Sidiki Diabaté is a Malian singer, musician, and producer born in Bamako in 1992. Coming from a prominent griot family with a lineage of kora masters, including his father Toumani Diabaté and grandfather Sidiki Diabaté, he honors his heritage while incorporating modern elements into his music. His work ranges from traditional collaborations with his father on Toumani & Sidiki (2014) to afro-pop and electronic influences on albums like Diabatea Music, Vol. 1 (2016) and Béni (2019).

Early Life

Born in 1992 in Bamako, Mali, Sidiki Diabaté comes from a renowned griot family. His father is the celebrated kora player Toumani Diabaté, and his grandfather, also named Sidiki Diabaté, was a highly respected kora master.

Career

Sidiki Diabaté has established himself as a successful singer, musician, and producer. He collaborated with his father on the album Toumani & Sidiki (2014), showcasing his mastery of traditional kora music. He has also explored more modern sounds, incorporating afro-pop and electronic influences into his solo albums, including Diabatea Music, Vol. 1 (2016) and Béni (2019). In 2017, he and his father contributed to -M-'s album Lamomali and the subsequent live performance Lamomali Airlines.
