Early Life
Born in San Antonio, Texas, USA, Mina moved to Kobe, Japan, at a young age. She trained in ballet for over eleven years before joining Urizip Dance Studio.
Career
Mina was scouted by JYP Entertainment while shopping with her mother and joined the trainee program in 2014. In 2015, she competed in the reality show Sixteen and was selected as one of the nine members to debut in Twice. The group debuted with the single "Like Ooh-Ahh." Mina is one of Twice's main dancers and is known for her elegant style.

Personal Life
Mina holds dual American and Japanese citizenship. In 2019, JYP Entertainment announced that Mina was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and would be taking a hiatus from group activities. She gradually returned to the group and continues to be an active member.
