Mina Myoi

Mina Myoi (名井 南), known mononymously as Mina, is a Japanese singer and dancer based in South Korea. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Twice, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2015.

Early Life

Born in San Antonio, Texas, USA, Mina moved to Kobe, Japan, at a young age. She trained in ballet for over eleven years before joining Urizip Dance Studio.

Career

Mina was scouted by JYP Entertainment while shopping with her mother and joined the trainee program in 2014. In 2015, she competed in the reality show Sixteen and was selected as one of the nine members to debut in Twice. The group debuted with the single "Like Ooh-Ahh." Mina is one of Twice's main dancers and is known for her elegant style.

Personal Life

Mina holds dual American and Japanese citizenship. In 2019, JYP Entertainment announced that Mina was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and would be taking a hiatus from group activities. She gradually returned to the group and continues to be an active member.

Mina has shared in numerous awards won by Twice, including multiple Song of the Year and Artist of the Year awards at major Korean music award shows like the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and Melon Music Awards (MMA).
