Yannick Agnel is a French former competitive swimmer, specializing in freestyle events. He won gold medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 200-meter freestyle and the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in the 200-meter freestyle.

Born on June 9, 1992, in Nîmes, France, Agnel began swimming at a young age.

Career

Agnel's international breakthrough came at the 2010 European Aquatics Championships, where he won gold in the 400-meter freestyle. He achieved Olympic glory at the 2012 London Olympics, winning gold in the 200-meter freestyle and as part of the French 4×100-meter freestyle relay team. At the 2013 World Aquatics Championships, he won gold in the 200-meter freestyle. He retired from competitive swimming in 2016.

Awards

Agnel's achievements include Olympic gold medals and a World Championship title. He was also named the French Sportsman of the Year in 2012.
