Early Life

Born in the Black Country region of England, Plant developed an early interest in blues and rock and roll music. He left grammar school to pursue a career in music, performing with various bands in the Birmingham music scene before joining forces with Jimmy Page in 1968.

Career

Plant's career took off with the formation of Led Zeppelin. As the band's lead vocalist, he co-wrote most of their songs with guitarist Jimmy Page, contributing lyrics inspired by mythology, fantasy, and blues traditions. After Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980, Plant embarked on a successful solo career, releasing numerous albums and collaborating with various artists.
