Richie Sambora, born Richard Stephen Sambora on July 11, 1959, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is a renowned guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He achieved international fame as the lead guitarist and co-songwriter of the rock band Bon Jovi, contributing significantly to their iconic sound and success for over three decades.

Early Life

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Sambora's early passion for music was ignited by the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. He began playing guitar in his teens, honing his skills in various local bands.

Career

Sambora joined Bon Jovi in 1981, becoming an integral part of the band's signature sound. His distinctive guitar playing, combined with his songwriting contributions, helped propel Bon Jovi to global stardom. He co-wrote many of the band's biggest hits, including "Livin' on a Prayer," "Wanted Dead or Alive," and "You Give Love a Bad Name." After a 30-year tenure, Sambora departed Bon Jovi in 2012.
