Dave Ramsey

Dave Ramsey is a popular American personal finance personality, radio show host, author, and businessman. He is best known for his syndicated radio program, The Ramsey Show, and his financial advice based on eliminating debt and saving.

Early Life

Dave Ramsey was born in Antioch, Tennessee. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1982.

Career

By age 26, Ramsey had established a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio. However, changes in banking regulations led to foreclosure and financial hardship. He subsequently developed a biblically-based financial counseling approach, which formed the foundation of his financial advice career. He began counseling couples at his local church and eventually founded The Lampo Group, Inc., now Ramsey Solutions. He authored several books, including the bestseller The Total Money Makeover, and launched his nationally syndicated radio program, The Ramsey Show.

Personal Life

Dave Ramsey is married to Sharon Ramsey and they have three children. He is an outspoken Christian and often incorporates biblical principles into his financial teachings.
