Andy Hurley

Andrew John Hurley (born May 31, 1980) is an American musician best known as the drummer for the rock band Fall Out Boy. He is recognized for his fast, energetic drumming style and his straight edge lifestyle. Beyond Fall Out Boy, Hurley has been involved in various hardcore punk and heavy metal projects.

Early Life

Born in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Hurley developed a passion for music early on, playing percussion in high school marching band. He became immersed in the hardcore punk scene, which heavily influenced his drumming style.

Career

Before joining Fall Out Boy in 2003, Hurley played in several hardcore bands, including Racetraitor and Earth Crisis. With Fall Out Boy, he has recorded multiple platinum-selling albums, including From Under the Cork Tree and Infinity on High. His drumming has been crucial to the band's signature sound, blending pop-punk melodies with hardcore-influenced rhythms. He is also known for his work with the metal band The Damned Things.

Personal Life
