Elgin Turner

Elgin Turner, better known as U-God, is an American rapper and member of the legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. He is known for his deep voice and distinctive flow, contributing to many of the group's classic tracks.

Early Life

Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, U-God developed an interest in hip-hop at a young age. He became friends with future Wu-Tang members Method Man and Raekwon, and the three often rapped together.

Career

U-God is a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, contributing to their groundbreaking debut album "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" in 1993. He has appeared on subsequent Wu-Tang albums and released several solo projects, including "Golden Arms Redemption" and "U-Godz Illustrated." His distinctive voice and hard-hitting rhymes have solidified his place as a key member of the group.
